Standards and Operational Guidance for Ethics

WINF Ethical Guidelines

Winaya Inspirasi Nusantara Foundation (WINF) is committed to fostering high-quality research and upholding the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. Authors submitting manuscripts to WINF conferences are expected to adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Originality and Manuscript Content

Authors must submit original, unpublished work that makes a meaningful contribution to the field. Any content reproduced from other sources must be properly cited, and permission must be obtained to respect intellectual property rights.

2. Plagiarism

Manuscripts must be free from plagiarized material. Copying from other publications without proper attribution is strictly prohibited.

3. Text Recycling (Self-Plagiarism)

Authors should avoid submitting previously published work or reusing substantial parts of their own prior publications without appropriate citation. It is acceptable to present a more developed version of earlier work with new insights, provided the original work is clearly cited.

4. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • AI-assisted editing for improving readability and style does not require disclosure.
  • Substantial AI involvement (e.g., content generation) must be clearly stated, and authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript.
  • AI-generated images should be avoided unless copyright compliance and proper attribution can be ensured. Such images must be clearly labeled in captions.
  • AI tools must not be listed as authors.

5. Multiple Submissions

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple publications simultaneously. Fragmenting a single research project into multiple submissions should also be avoided.

6. Authorship

All listed authors must have made a scientific or literary contribution to the work and must consent to its publication. Other forms of support should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section.

7. Data Integrity

Authors should provide access to the underlying data upon request. Any fabrication or falsification of data or results constitutes serious misconduct. Authors must notify WINF of any errors discovered post-submission.

8. References

All relevant sources must be cited appropriately in the References section to ensure transparency and academic rigor.

9. Defamation

Manuscripts must not contain defamatory or unlawful statements about individuals or organizations.

10. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest at the time of submission.

11. Experimentation and Testing

Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with applicable laws and international ethical standards. Informed consent and anonymity must be ensured when required.

WINF is dedicated to maintaining the technical and professional quality of its publications. Any breach of these ethical standards will prompt a formal investigation and appropriate action. For further guidance, authors are encouraged to consult the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) at http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines.
