Aims:
The primary aim of Applied Welfare Economics Review (AWER) is to advance the global understanding of economic wellbeing, equitable resource allocation, and distributive justice. The journal seeks to publish high quality empirical and theoretical research that offers actionable solutions for poverty alleviation, sustainable development, and inclusive economic growth. By providing a broad platform for diverse economic paradigms, AWER aims to foster critical dialogues between conventional public economics and alternative frameworks, particularly Islamic economics. The journal is dedicated to becoming a leading academic outlet that bridges the gap between rigorous scientific analysis and impactful policymaking.
Scope:
The scope of the journal encompasses a wide range of topics within both mainstream and Islamic economic disciplines. We invite submissions exploring, but not limited to, the following core areas:
1. Welfare Economics and Public Policy: Evaluation of fiscal decentralization, taxation, public service delivery, and their direct impact on societal wellbeing and regional economic development.
2. Poverty and Distributive Justice: Comprehensive analysis of income inequality, wealth distribution, and the effectiveness of social safety nets from both conventional and ethical economic perspectives.
3. Islamic Economics and Philanthropy: The macroeconomic role of Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Waqf in promoting social justice and community empowerment, alongside the ethical dimensions of Islamic finance and commercial transactions.
4. Institutional and Behavioral Economics: The influence of institutional quality, governance structures, bureaucratic efficiency, and behavioral interventions on economic decision making and how these elements ultimately shape public welfare and societal wellbeing.
5. Applied Economics and Quantitative Analysis: Robust empirical studies utilizing advanced statistical tools, including panel data regression, classical assumption testing, and spatial econometrics to strictly evaluate how macroeconomic outcomes and regional policies directly affect community welfare, poverty reduction, and social prosperity.
6. Sustainable and Inclusive Development: Research focusing on green economics, agricultural economics, rural empowerment, and equitable transitions that align with the broader goals of human welfare and social equity.
Welfare Economics Review strongly encourages both robust quantitative research and in depth qualitative studies that contribute significantly to the advancement of economic literature and public policy formulation.
